In Meigs County, the Mobility Manager serves as the point of contact for all community transportation needs. The Mobility Manager seeks to identify areas within the community in which transportation can provide accessible options for travel. As these issues are identified the Mobility Manager is responsible for providing remedy or referral to an equitable service that best addresses the issues. The Mobility Management program is still young within Meigs County but will continue to grow as public transportation and the demand for further services is requested.
The Mobility Manager will serve as the lead driver for developing and implementing a transportation system within the county. Public transit and self-paid vendors do not currently operate within the county. This in turn causes lack of accessibility for many members of the community. Through the efforts of the Mobility Manager and Transportation Supervisor, the Department of Job and Family Services will strive to provide the necessary options to the community as best determined and acknowledged.
